Come join Gerhard Steenkamp on this basic photography workshop to be held in Bloemfontein and learn all the basic fundamentals of photography. This will give you a kick start to get your photography going in no time.
The workshop will be consists of a theoretical session and a practical group outing. Gerhard will take you through a theoretical step by step process, showing and explaining to you, how to choose the ideal camera settings to use in each situation you may be faced with whilst out photographing a subject.
Gerhard will offer artistic guidelines and insights into some of the tricks of the trade that will enable you to get you going and take your photography to the next level and capture great images.
1st Day – Theoretical session
8:00 – Everyone get together at 8 Connor Ave. Westdene Bloemfontein where the workshop will be held.
8:15 – The three basic elements of photography, Shutter, Aperture and ISO will be discussed in depth.
9:30 – Brake with some coffee/drinks and snacks.
10:00 – How the elements(shutter, aperture and ISO) influence your photos.
10:30 – How to set up your camera. Which mode to use when faced with a specific situation.
11:00 – Basic rules of photography. How to implement colour, shapes, lines, patterns, texture and tone into your photos.
11:30 – How to use lead in lines and power points effectively.
12:30 – Recap of the mornings activities with a question and answer session.
2nd Day – Practical session (Brand Str. Photo Walk)
During the Brand str photo walk everyone attending will get the chance to implement what they have learned the previous day with Gerhard assisting where necessary.
14:30 -Everyone get together at the Fire Brigade offices in Brand str where the photo walk will start.
15:00 – The walk down Brand str will start after a sort recap of the previous days discussions.
17::00 – Everyone start making their way back to the Fire brigade offices.
18:00 – Recap of the afternoons activities with a question and answer session.
